Johannesburg, Gauteng: At an exclusive event that took place on the 25th of September 2019 at The Houghton Hotel, Microsoft South Africa announced the winners and finalists of the Microsoft FY19 Partner of the Year Awards. Turrito was announced as a Cloud Solution Provider Finalist. These annual awards celebrate and recognise top Microsoft partners who demonstrate excellence in innovation and demonstrate a commitment to excellence when it comes to customer solutions based on Microsoft technology.

This year, Microsoft SA acknowledged partners in 25 categories, with each of the core partner competencies being covered by a category including cloud, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and many more.

Turrito was one of three finalists in the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) reseller category.

“We were thrilled to hear that Turrito was a finalist in the Cloud Solution Provider of the Year category at the 2019 Microsoft Partner Awards.  This prestigious event stands out for IT businesses around the world and to reach the top three in South Africa is a massive achievement.  Especially considering we’ve only recently become a Microsoft partner.  The Microsoft 365 and Azure product stacks are incredibly powerful and our customers love using them.  It makes our jobs easier and our customer’s businesses more productive and secure.  We look forward to many more Microsoft awards in future!” said Colin Thornton, Managing Director of Turrito

The award finalists and winners were selected based on their commitment to customers, their solution’s impact on the local software market and their exemplary use of Microsoft technologies and solutions.

In his opening speech, Lionel Moyal, Commercial Partners Lead at Microsoft South Africa, urged partners to explore the fourth industrial revolution with innovation. “As we move towards the fourth industrial revolution, it is important that we work together, sell together, and win together. We are seeing every industry embrace tech intensity, as every company is becoming a digital company.”

Moyal’s statement resonates with what Turrito is trying to achieve as a business for their customers and the South African Market. Our competitors may be focusing on closing the next deal or selling technology for technology’s sake, but we’re focused on building a long-term trusted relationship where the technology is just an enabler.  The products, brands, services, and software we provide should be almost incidental – the important thing is how they help our customers and allow them to not only survive but thrive too.” says Melissa Viljoen, Marketing Manager of Turrito.
